Amanda C. Sun – A proud San Francisco native with a passion for design and creativity. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Design: Visual Communications, with a minor in Psychology, from UC Davis. When I’m not designing, I’m balancing life as a mother to my daughter and wife to my husband. Between family time and exploring new foods (and indulging in plenty of ice cream), I’m deeply committed to growing as a designer. My mission is to push creative boundaries while embracing the challenge of motherhood – striving every day to be the best designer I can be.

Storytime

I was inspired to pursue a career in design by my fourth-grade teacher, who encouraged me by submitting my art pieces to museums. From that moment, I knew I wanted to follow a creative path. I pursued my passion by studying photography, Adobe Creative Suite, animation, and hands-on art classes, which laid the foundation for my professional journey.

My first design role was at UC Davis, where I worked as a graphics designer for the Theatre and Dance publicity department, creating digital and print assets for their productions. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of growing my design career at Salesforce, where I’ve spent nearly a decade. Starting as a Visual Designer and later as a Senior Designer and Art Director, I’ve led creative work for Trailhead, managing the badge design system and leading creative direction in digital and print assets for major events like Dreamforce, Connections, TrailheaDX, and more.

At Salesforce, I also guide the design of character illustrations and branded assets for Trailhead while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure brand consistency. My work spans everything from large-scale campaigns to social media assets and promotional materials. Additionally, I’ve managed vendor relationships and trademark approvals to maintain high-quality and consistent branding.

Along the way, I’ve worked on various freelance projects, including logo design, PowerPoint presentations, packaging design, and marketing materials for clients such as Torch, Live Sushi, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Apttus.

These experiences have shaped my skills as a designer and creative leader. I’m passionate about design and storytelling, thrive in fast-paced environments, and am confident in my ability to bring fresh, innovative ideas to any project or company.
